There's a great post on Rehab Help Online about two long-term friends who went to college together, partied together, and spent much of their time together throwing down beers. Fast forward twenty years and one of them is an alcoholic and has just been admitted to the hospital. When his old friend arrives from out of town, he discovers that his friend has cirrhosis of the liver. Add to that he is the color of a banana. It's a great read and should be mandatory for anyone who is a drinker or has friends or family members who are drinkers.
